Though the date and location for the Super Bowl changes every year, the borderline unhealthy fixation on America’s biggest professional sporting event is a constant. In 2020, when the NFL’s 100th season ends with Super Bowl 54, that domestic and global attention will turn to Miami.
The Super Bowl in 2020, the game that will crown an NFL champion for the 2019 season, is scheduled to take place Sunday, Feb. 2 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. That stadium, of course, is home to the Miami Dolphins, one of the few NFL teams we can guarantee will not be playing in the Super Bowl in 2020.
The latest Super Bowl odds suggest at least one familiar contender will reach the big game in 2020. According to Sportsbook Review, the defending-champion Patriots remain the favorites to make and win the Super Bowl. The team they beat in last year’s Super Bowl, the Rams, had fallen to No. 9 on the list of favorites at the midpoint of the regular season.
Other favorites to reach and win the Super Bowl in 2020 based on the odds are the Saints and Chiefs, the teams that lost in the NFC and AFC championship games, respectively, last season. Other top contenders this year include the 49ers, Packers, Ravens, Cowboys, Eagles, Vikings and Seahawks.
The game will be almost a year to the day from 2019’s game on Sunday, February 2, 2020.
Miami will host the Super Bowl for the first time since 2010. Hard Rock Stadium will host for the first time since its renovations which began in 2015 and ended in 2016.

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira have been confirmed as the Super Bowl 2020 act. Last year Adam Levine performed—to a bit of controversy. And on September 27 it was announced that both Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will be co-headlining the Super Bowl halftime show in Miami, which seems to be the perfect gig for the Latina songstresses—and for the “Jenny from the Block” / Shakira super fans here at OprahMag.com. “I love that, next to J.Lo, we’ll be representing the Latino community, which is such an important force in the United States,” Shakira said in a video for the show’s sponsor, Pepsi.
